Good News!

Remember in my last post, when I said I had some exciting news? Well, that news is that I am now a 1st Step Pro-Wellness Ambassador! Fitness and healthy living have been passions of mine since I decided to start exercising and eating right, back in 2009, so becoming an ambassador was huge for me. It’s such an honor and kind of my dream job, no big deal or anything. 🙂

I’ve been using 1st Step products for a while now. One of the side-effects of Ulcerative Colitis is mal-absorption, which means my body doesn’t get all the nutrients from the food I eat. Because of this, I have to eat a high-protein diet and take extra vitamins. I am super picky about protein powders (I swear, I have tried everything) but I love their French Vanilla whey. It actually tastes good, not weird and chalky or powdery like so many vanilla proteins I’ve tried. Also, if you have an autoimmune disease, you know fatigue all too well. I don’t remember a time since my diagnosis when I have felt awake and alert like I used to, but 1st step’s liquid b-12 really helps a lot. It’s like a pre-workout that won’t give you gym rage when that same guy is in the squat rack for two hours and all you want is one good set.

Anyway, this is a great opportunity for me, and even though it means I have a lot of work cut out for me, with classes and my two other jobs, plus that minor little issue of my body attacking itself on a regular basis, I haven’t been so thrilled about something in a very, very long time. I’ll get to represent the company at fitness events, hand out samples, do demos, and just talk about something I love with people in my community. And maybe I’ll get to help someone along the way. 🙂

You can check out my profile the 1st Step website here. Have a great weekend!
